Ergonomic Assessments
An ergonomic assessment can be used for the purpose of return to work after injury / illness or used as a preventative tool. Referrals are made by employers, workers, insurers, and lawyers. An ergonomic assessment addresses the individual at his / her job. The worker is interviewed regarding the job routines and tasks. This information is combined with data from observations and measurements. Recommendations and changes to the workstation could be no cost or minimal outlay, e.g., alternating tasks, using an alternate work surface, use of anti-vibration gloves, repositioning the mouse. Based on the needs defined, the assessment and report can be as detailed or brief as desired. In addition, group education sessions can be tailored for employees as related to ergonomics and wellness.
Job Demands Analyses

A job demands analysis is a means of categorizing the physical demands of a job. Factory and industry settings find this a useful tool for the purpose of creating job libraries. When a worker returns following injury or illness, his / her functional capacities can be compared to his previous job or an alternate job. Reaching, lifting, crouching, climbing are just a few of the demands analyzed on a scale of frequency performed.
Education for Employees

Group education sessions can be tailored for employees as related to ergonomics and wellness. Employee awareness of basic ergonomic principles enables individuals to make adjustments to postures at work and at home. Interactive group education can also boost morale and increase energy levels in the work place.
